General Notes: James Erwin Kunkle, was born in Glendale, California in 1940. He moved to Denver on a Train in 1945 and lived in Denver every since that time. He graduated from North High School, and three weeks later was on a Train to the Army where he was involved with until he was discharged honorably in 1962. Then, three weeks later he started to drive for the Denver Tramway Corporation as a Bus Driver and been there every since that time nearly 40 years. He was also known as the Bus Company's Historian through the years as the Bus company kept changing ownership to "Denver Metro Transit" and in 1974 to "Reginal Transportation District" R.T.D.. He retired in November 1997 and one year later, went back to work as a Part time driver, and continues to work today, meeting his people that he has enjoyed all his life.
